Hello and Welcome

To the Andrew Ingham and Associates blog.

We will update this with regular posts showing what we are currently working on (NDAs not withstanding) or what we have in the pipeline. There will also be posts of previous works that been competed and/or displayed.

The first of these previous projects is a model of the Burj Kalifa that is now on permanent in the gift shop of the worlds tallest building.

The model is approximately four and a half metres tall and is made from alternating layers of lasered acrylic and machined aluminium. There are colour changing led strips on the interior of the model that can change through various combinations of colour. It was made in 2009.

There was some difficulty in the installation due to the gift shop still being a building site and having limited access around the model but these difficulties were overcome by the team of modelmakers that Andrew Ingham and Associates sent out to erect the model.

The model was sent out in sections and these were joined together on site with integral threaded steel rod to ensure a sturdy model that will last for a long time to come. The base is a solid aluminium and corian construction on a solid mdf sub-base.

Many thanks for following our blog and we will post again soon.
